This page explains what happens to your details when you use this website or email me.

Who I am

This website is run by James Powell, trading as James Powell Software, based in Kent, UK. You can contact me at james@jamespowellsoftware.co.uk.

What this website collects

This website doesn't collect anything about you. There's no contact form, no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, and the site doesn't load anything from other websites.

My web host

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles basic technical details such as your IP address so it can deliver the page and keep the site secure. I don't use this to identify you.

If you email me

I'll have your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write. I only use it to reply to you and, if I do work for you, to do the work. I don't sell or pass your details to anyone else.

Why I'm allowed to use it

I have a legitimate interest in replying to people who contact me. If I do work for you, I also need your details to do the work you've asked for.

Where it's kept

Emails sent to my address are forwarded by Cloudflare to my email account, which is provided by Microsoft, so they're stored with Microsoft.

How long I keep it

If you email me and I don't end up doing any work for you, I delete your emails within 12 months. If I do work for you, I keep records for six years because I have to keep tax records.

Your rights

You can ask me to see, correct or delete the details I hold about you. Just email me. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
